How we give.
The Foundation gives largely by invitation and long partnership, with a small, selective door for inbound inquiry. We fund durable, locally-led work, and we read every inquiry with care — though we are able to take forward only a few.
What we fund
- Durable, locally-led programs in our five program areas
- Maintenance, training, and the unglamorous work that makes programs last
- Independent evaluation, including of our own work
What we don’t
- Individuals, scholarships applied for directly, or personal causes
- One-time relief without a path to durability
- Programs that cannot be locally led or sustained
